What is the most urgent policy matter to address locally, statewide or nationally, and why?
Locally we need to look at modifying our tax base to reduce dependence on sales tax. As a state we need to balance our budget and determine ways to create revenue. As a nation we need address how we are educating our youth so that they are prepared for working in the new economy.

I agree on the education and budget with you, but I think we should ditch the state income tax and go all in on a sales tax. This would encourage people to save more, while letting those who spend the most, pay the most tax.
Taxes on school supplies could go to schools. Taxes on cars and parts could go toward roads. So on, so forth.
The governments inability to be fiscally responsible should not be rewarded with more tax revenue.
