Should Mesa or others endorse the Utah Compact immigration policy statement?
The foundations of this country as an economic powerhouse was built on the backs of immigrants. We have to drop our xenophobic attitudes and embrace the reality that diversity is a key building block of innovation and growth. Let’s look at opening up immigration through reform instead of trying to enforce our fears in the name of “safety”. It is shameful that this issue has become a political platform for Democrats and Republicans to further polarize against while searching for votes.
