Retailers started the holiday spending push weeks ago. Did they start too early, and do you think the extra push will work?

They are fighting against the new “normal”. One that doesn’t involved a feeding frenzy of consumerism. Starting early wont hurt them, but it won’t help them either. It is going to require them to revisit their core values and how they define success. They have to connect in new ways and provide more value. Ultimately, they have to come to grips with the reality facing them. One that doesn’t have record growth on the horizon.
